SynysterPhoenix
Some people seem to beleive that putting 3 coco's on a small phunnel is too much. That smokes beautifully for me.Here's my setup Smoking pics:Full smoke and full flavor.Feel free to ask any questions Edited October 10, 2009 by SynysterPhoenix
joytron
Im having a hard time seeing the full flavor on the pictures.Keep in mind the phunnels are hand made, so while it may work well for your bowl, mine might be smaller and it might be too much heat. Its cool if it works for you but there is no way it works on my bowl.

The new one seems to be significantly smaller, but I used the same technique and works just the same. Full smoke, and to me and my friends, full flavor. momatik
Depends on the shisha for me.I know Nakhla takes 3 coals like a champ. But AF takes 2 and a windcover.
JDHarding
AF2 will take 3 coals no problem. It's so wet that it won't burn with 3. It barely needs any heat management either.Nakhla will take 3 no problem too. Tang usually takes 2 and a windcover, though 3 is good to get it going. dizzbizz
I use 3 too with Hd foil. Best set up, hands down.
gunsNhookah
With my small phunnel, always 3 coals to start, then every round after is just 2.Nak always takes 3 coals. Your flavor/smoke may vary.

gtm2007
I smoke a 30g Vortex and 3 coals w/out windcover and it works great, clouds spectacularly, but the bowl burns up fast. Also, I'm using John's CH coals which burn at a lower temperature than coco's, from what I've heard. With your small phunnel and 3 coco's, how long does the bowl last? FactorE
for tangiers small phunnel I use 3 cocos for SB, JM, Baja, Nak, Fantasia, and fumari.for vortex bowl I also use 3 as well.for smoking HH or HF, I use 2 cocos with a vortex. As for AF... I never got it right with cocos and its harsh and got a sting in my throat either with 2 cocos or 3 cocos on a small phunnel dont matter.... some ppl tell me its their bad batches but i duno.. i am just getting sick of that brand. Chiefin
3 works fine on every small phunnel I've had. I too enjoy thick flavorful clouds for hours. When the coals get small i put a wind cover up...and from then on I add about two coals until the bowl is dead.
